Summer 2020: A Better World
Online Holiday Club
This summer our children’s Holiday Club went online! It streamed every morning from 17 Aug to 21 Aug and there was a special service on Sunday 23 Aug which is available at the St Nicholas Marston YouTube page .
You can download colouring sheets and puzzles here.
And you can send us your comments, quiz answers, pictures and videos here.
Online Holiday Club was sent through YouTube – you can still catch up with anything you missed.
All you need to do is to send an email to gilhale_UK@yahoo.com and let us know the names of any children who would like to take part.
It is suitable for children aged 5 to 13 years, but we don’t mind if anyone else wants to tune in!
We included most of our favourite things like songs, stories, crafts, baking, games, prayers, all with our “Better World” theme. There are things you can do at home, and a chance to send your photos or videos to share with others.
About Holiday Club
At Holiday Club, we sing, listen to stories, win prizes, make amazing crafts, have games, and learn about God in the process! Everyone aged five to twelve can come, and thirteens and older are very welcome to help out as leaders. The club’s been happening every year since 1998.
All of the helpers are members of the Church community. Lots of our adult leaders are or were teachers, or are involved in the Church’s regular kids activities.
Summer 2019: Everything New
Our theme was from Lamentations 3:22-23. “The Lord’s love never comes to an end. His mercies never stop. They are new every morning”. We learned about people who made a new start in life: a paralysed man, fishermen, two people walking along a road, a Roman centurion. They came from different and varied backgrounds; Jesus met them just where they were.
Summer 2018: Let’s Celebrate
It was 20 years since our first holiday club at Marston and a good excuse to party. We heard stories about a wedding where Jesus turned water into wine, a great celebration when a lost book was found, a cheat who gave away his fortune and a picnic on a beach. Not forgetting “Sonny the party boy” who came to realise that the love of his family was much more lasting than the attentions of dodgy so-called “friends”. And we LOVED the bouncy obstacle course which gave us an appetite for the delicious barbecue!
Summer 2017: God’s got a plan
Our holiday club ran from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm each morning from Mon 29 Aug to Fri 1 Sep. We finished with a special all-age service and a BBQ.
Summer 2016: Amazing Universe; Loving God
We enjoyed many stories, games and crafts as we found out more about the wonderful world we live in and God who cares for each of us. Here is one of our Holiday Headlines which will give you an idea of the sort of things we did. We finished with a special all-age service and prize giving.
Summer 2015: Growing with God
Our theme was “Growing with God”. We had a great time as we met each day for songs, Bible stories, games and crafts. We finished the week with a barbecue, prizegiving and a family celebration.
Here are a couple of videos made at past Holiday Clubs:
