Graves and People
The graveyard has been in use since the founding of the church. The church has been built on marsh land that was drained during the middle ages. A system of ditches around the village helped with the drainage, although the graveyard has on occasions flooded, but not in recent times. In the graveyard, many people have been buried, many are unknown and records and memorials for some have disappeared on the centuries. Below is a compilation of some of the prominent people buried there. The list is not conclusive and we hope to add to it over time.
